Hello world! Have you got the Diski Dance Fever FIFA 2010 yet?
I am proudly South African and so I thought I would start a blog on all things South African!
Of-course with the FIFA 2010 World Cup coming to South Africa and the whole country madly rushing to ensure that everything is ready for their special guests - it is hardly surprising that this is the buzz word on everyones lips at the moment!
Have you got the Diski Dance Fever yet? FIFA 2010.
Diski is a local South African word meaning “Football” and it is all the rage in South Africa as we gear top speed ahead for the World Cup 2010 Football (soccer) games!
Rhythm and dance is as much a part of South African culture as football is and so, using what we do best, the South African Tourism board has come up with a cool way to spread happiness and patriotism throughout the country and world – “The Diski Dance”. You haven’t really lived, if you haven’t experienced this cool, energetic township based jive! It combines rhythm with football movements and creates a bit of fun for spectators. The newly built ultra modern Cape Town Stadium in Cape Town is set to hold 68,000 people and I can just imagine the scene as thousands of people leap up and do the Diski when a goal is scored! Laduma!
