Taita Falcon Lodge

Taita Falcon Lodge, Zambia

Located just 11km from the world-famous Victoria Falls and perched on the edge of the Batoka Gorge, high above the mighty Zambezi River, the exclusive Taita Falcon Lodge provides a unique location and offers its guests the height of luxury, amidst beautiful surroundings. Undoubtedly offering Livingstone’s highest, quality accommodation, Taita Falcon Lodge is situated in a natural bush environment, affording both privacy and comfort. The gardens around the lodge are a colourful blend of indigenous plants with an abundance of birdlife including Vereaux (Black) Eagles, Peregrine Falcons and the lodge’s namesake – the rare and beautiful Taita Falcon.

Seven delightful en-suite chalets, constructed using naturally occurring materials from the surrounding area, give a taste of authenticity without compromising on comfort.

Great care and attention has gone into the chalet design and furnishings.

 Elephant Valley Lodge

Elephant Valley Lodge, Botswana

The Chobe region is home to the largest population of wild elephant in the world. This is estimated to be approximately 120,000 individuals. Their sometimes daily passage takes them from Zimbabwe through the Chobe and on into Namibia before returning. Elephant Valley Lodge lies along one of these routes and is situated in the Kasane Forest, which is adjacent to the Chobe National Park.

Open guest areas, a secluded hide, refreshing swimming pool and 20 ‘meru styled’ tents complete the lodge which lies beneath a forest of sturdy knob thorns. It is within these tree tops that the largest colony of white back vultures occurs. The lodge is unique for several reasons and amongst these is the fact that it is situated within a game rich reserve affording the guests wonderful sightings between open landrover safaris into the Chobe and boat cruises along the Chobe River

Impalila Island Lodge

Impalila Island Lodge, Namibia

The rush of the Mambova Rapids casts a soft blanket of sound over Impalila Island Lodge. Nestled close to the junction of four countries – Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Zimbabwe – and near the meeting place of the mighty Zambezi and Chobe Rivers, Impalila Island Lodge is a water-bound wonderland.

With over 100km of waterways to traverse, Impalila lies a mere 80km upriver from the Victoria Falls. Surrounded by rippling beds of pink-tinged water lilies, the lodge lies protectively beneath the branches of a 700 year-old Baobab tree under which, it is said, David Livingstone camped. Eight luxury en-suite chalets all with river views echo the colours of Africa. Here lies promise of excitement by day; tranquillity by night.

Light arching through long-stemmed wine glasses throws colour onto crisp linen. An attentive team produces culinary art, and mealtimes become a ritual of their own.

Our seductive rivers invite you to explore further. Encounter Africa’s big game and birdlife by boat or challenge the legendary tigerfish on fly. Follow the island’s footpaths for an intriguing village visit and learn of the medicinal uses of the indigenous plant life.

Combine this with a few days in Cape Town and you have almost the perfect African holiday
